Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena (on Free Museum Day)

Today, we went to Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena for Free Museum Day. This museum has been on my “to visit” list for awhile, so I’m glad we finally had a chance to cross it off. Normally $13 per person for admission, I knew it would be a popular destination, so we planned to arrive early. It was helpful that my husband dropped us off, because the parking lot is quite far from the museum, and by the time he parked and met us, the line grew exponentially. Thankfully, our wait was under 20 minutes.

Kidspace Children’s Museum is comfortably large and spread out. My three-year old is at a good age where she can appreciate a lot of activities. Here were some of her favorites:

Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) – for kids ages 3 and under

We started off at the “toddler and baby” area, which my daughter still enjoys. Everything is soft, low, and clean. Everyone is required to wear socks, and they provide disposable foot covers as an option. The hanging basket-type seats were pretty popular, and a baby was just chilling in one the entire time we were there.

Galvin Physics Forest

This interactive area focused on physics was really cool, but the concepts were little advanced for my 3-year old – I think I enjoyed it more than she did! She still had fun, though!

Arroyo Adventure

Arroyo Adventure is the newest outdoor area of Kidspace Children’s Museum. Tons of things to climb, build, and areas to get messy. We could have spent all day in this area alone.

The Ant Hole & Inter-Antics Climber at Roberts Pavilion

There is an underground tunnel that leads to this climbing structure. I had no idea what to expect, and thankfully, another parent followed their kid through the tunnel and lit the way with his phone. A staff member stands inside to make sure the littles don’t get trampled.

Free museum day was a good preview of Kidspace Children’s Museum. It’s definitely a place my daughter will appreciate even more at different stages in her life.
