Tips for attending the LA Auto Show with kids

Take Metro

Take Metro if possible. Parking around the Los Angeles Convention Center is roughly around $25. The Metro stop (Pico) is only three blocks away. One way on the metro is $1.75. Can’t beat that price!

Arrive Early

Avoid the crowds by getting there early. There’s early entry on some days and they are open Thanksgiving Day! I went on Tuesday, which was not a crowded day. We brought our lightweight umbrella stroller and were able to stroll through with no problem. Luckily, my kid can walk, so she got out of the stroller if we wanted to take the escalator instead of waiting for the elevator.

Bring Snacks and Water

I made the mistake of not bringing enough snacks. Thankfully, they gave away almonds at Ford. I wish I brought more than the Pepperidge Farm Milanos stashed away in my bag, because my kid had a meltdown.

Plan Accordingly

My kid’s meltdown happened about 2.5 hours in. She rarely naps anymore, but she still gets irritable around a certain time. We finished the West Hall and still had a lot more to look at, but couldn’t because of of the meltdown.

Visit The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Play Zone

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Play Zone is located in the West Hall. It was a very smart first stop for us because there was a ball pit, climbing area, and tablets with games to keep kids entertained. In addition, there is a comfy seating area with outlets to charge your phone (make sure you bring your own charger). My husband and I took turns watching our kid in the Play Zone while the other checked out the cars sans child.
