Books and Cookies & Monica + Andy Pop-Up

We went to Books and Cookies today for Baby Playtime. I learned from one of my mom groups they are moving locations. They haven’t announced where yet. After class, we checked out the Monica + Andy pop-up store I read about in Racked LA. Monica, the owner, was very friendly and personable. I wrote to her a few days before my arrival, telling her about my blog and saying I wanted to meet her.  She is a lovely person.  I was pleased learn that her company employs several moms, most of them working part-time. In addition, her fabrics are free of lead, flame retardants, and phthalates, a group of chemicals used to make plastics more flexible and harder to break. I don’t think I mentioned how cute the clothes are yet. I asked what their best seller today was, and she said the Thalia Tunic. Seems to be a very California product, as it is lightweight and great for this weather. I thought the Little Bow Peep dress was cute online, but when I put it on my daughter, it was ten times cuter on!  She gave it to Aria as an early birthday present, and I think it will be the perfect outfit for her first birthday photo, which I will take at the end of the month!

We took photos together with her and her marketing person, whose name I forgot 🙁
