Humpback Whales Movie Review by Shelby C.

I’m so happy my friend Jonna was able to take her girls to see the exclusive special screening of Humpback Whales sponsored by LA Parent at the California Science Center on June 27th . I was initially invited, but I was out of town that day and my daughter is too young to appreciate (or sit through) a film.

Shelby, Jonna’s daughter, provided us with the following review of Humpback Whales.

Movie review: Humpback Whales 3D

By: Shelby C.

I really loved going to see a movie about humpback whales. I learned all sorts of facts. I learned that we sometimes kill whales on accident, but we can save whales too. I also learned that baby whales are 14 feet long and live with their moms for 12 months and learn all they need to know to be on their own then. They also eat mostly in cold places and meet other whales to make babies where it’s warm.

My favorite part was when I learned that if you can’t ask questions to someone in person about whales you can go on the internet to learn more and find people who want to help too.

The movie is very inspiring.  I am going to start saving whales! And you should too! Let me tell you three ways how…

  1. If you have to ride a boat or ship, ride it slowly
  2. Don’t throw trash in the ocean
  3. Tell other people to start saving whales too!

I hope you follow my advice about ways to save whales. They are beautiful creatures who deserve to be treated with love and respect.

Thank you for your co-operation! 🙂
