Get Togethers Made Easy with Milk & Eggs
I’ve been back in Los Angeles for a little less than a week. After being gone for over a month, I’m slowly situating back to “normal” life – which means cooking, cleaning, and caring for my family. As much as I miss being on vacation (and taking “me-cations“), I also missed my friends here in L.A.! It’s been nice catching up with friends, which is usually over food. Today, I cooked dinner for some friends who are visiting from Japan. Thanks to MilkAndEggs.com‘s Farm Sampler Bags section, it was easy to find a complete meal to prepare with the BBQ Meat & Seafood Skewer Box #16.
- 2 – USDA Choice Rib Eye 12oz
- 2 – Atlantic Salmon Fresh 1 lb
- 2 – Flank Steak Choice
- 2 – Onion Red Large
- 2 – Bell Pepper Green
- 2 – Bell Pepper Red
- 1 – Asparagus Bunch
I added the Stonewall Kitchen Sesame Ginger Teriyaki Sauce to my order, and marinated the meat (after I cut them into cubes) the day before cooking. I used half the bottle to marinade the meat, and a quarter of it to marinade the bell peppers and salmon. I still had a quarter of the bottle left for dipping sauce or to use for another recipe.
Since I only have a small indoor grill, I seared the skewers on it then placed them in the oven to finish cooking. Depending on the thickness of the meat (and done-ness preference), I advise checking on the skewers every 10 minutes (at 350 degrees) to your liking.
To accompany the main dish, I chose some snack items I’d never tried before. I prefer crispy pita chips as opposed to soft, so I ordered Orange County-based Brothers Products Pita Chips. To go with it, I got the Brothers Products Artichoke Dip, but honestly the chips are so good, they are tasty on their own. I absolutely love warm spinach and artichoke dip, so I might make my own tomorrow, and use the cold artichoke dip as a mix-in.
I love Cabo Chips and I love Elote, so I was definitely drawn to try Cabo Chips – Elote Flavor. I started snacking on these while cooking and I almost couldn’t stop. Knowing they are minimally processed and a NON-GMO Verified product made me feel a little better about indulging.
It was enough food to feed three moms and seven children, so it was definitely a successful night! Thanks, Milk & Eggs!
