My Little Pony’s 9th and Final Season
April 6th was the premiere of the ninth and final season of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” on Discovery Family. On Friday, April 5th, my daughter and I attended a special premiere screening of the first two episodes of the 9th season at a special event at The London West Hollywood.
There was a panel with some of the voice over artists (Ashleigh Ball, Nicole Oliver, Cathy Weseluck) after the preview. They were nostalgic about the ending of the nine-year run, and are looking forward to new projects to come. Hasbro executive Stephen Davis told us not to worry, as we will be seeing more of the “Mane 6” after the season is over.
I’m not extremely familiar with the current “My Little Pony,” as I was a fan of the first generation, but my daughter knows all about it, as she is a huge fan. The theme of the episode I saw was “friendship conquers all.” She explains the different pony personalities below:
Twilight Sparkle is the leader of the crew and an Alicorn, which means she has a horn and wings. She also has the magic, but not much because sometimes when there is a crush in the Crystal Empire, she tries to break it but it won’t break. She always knows what to do.
Rarity is a unicorn. She likes to make things fancy. For example, she used her magic to make a dress fancy by adding sparkles using her horn.
Fluttershy is a pegasus who can sometimes be shy. She is an animal talent pegasus, which means that she can talk to animals.
Applejack is a pony. She is a farmer and can break down apples. She cares a lot about her family and friends and can never tell a lie.
Pinkie Pie is very silly and fun pony because she likes to tell jokes. She has pink hair and a pink body. She is a baker and makes all sorts of sweets.
Rainbow Dash is a pegasus can make rainbows. She also goes to the sonic rain boom, a place that has a spicy rainbow river. She is a very fast flyer and is very nice.
