Sender One Indoor Rock Climbing Gym and Fitness Center opens it’s second location at LAX Dec. 21

I’ve been to a few indoor rock climbing gyms, and enjoyed the activity enough to buy specialty shoes when I found them on sale. However, I’ve only gone a handful of times, all before baby and before marriage. After visiting Sender One at LAX, I think that’s about to change.

On Wednesday, I attended the press and influencer open house to preview Sender One’s rock climbing and fitness gym’s second location near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This place is impressive. It’s brightly lit, with 60 foot ceilings. The walls are splattered with bright colors with a wide range of climb difficulty.  The multi-leveled space is well-designed with separate pockets for different activities.

Prior to their grand opening December 21st, Sender One hosts preview climbs for members. Membership to Sender One is valid at both the Santa Ana location and the new LAX location, and day pass prices remain the same.

Sender One is Family Friendly

Owners Wesley Chu, Alice Kao, and Wesley Shih are all parents of small children. They created this space for families to interact, workout, and grow together around a shared activities. Opening in early 2017 will be the kid-centered area, “Sender City,” and toddler play space as well. More info on this area as it comes together! Stay tuned.

Sender One Challenges All Skill Levels

Whether you have never stepped foot in a rock climbing gym or are planning your next bouldering adventure with your rock climbing crew, the staff at Sender One can point you in the right direction. The walls at Sender One are the highest I’ve ever seen. The tallest vertical climb is 60 feet high! Bouldering walls outfit the first and second floor, and they also offer intro to climbing classes if you want to get your feet wet (or need a refresher).

I haven’t climbed at an indoor rock climbing gym in a very long time, so I did the two lowest level vertical climbs during my visit. They were both challenging and fun. I was going to do a third climb but instead explored bouldering, which I realize I don’t enjoy as much as the vertical climbs…they are still very fun though!

Yoga and Fitness

Sender One LAX will also offer yoga and fitness classes!

The Sender One Community

Membership includes invitations to community events. Attending is a great way to make new friends and socialize. Some highlights include: FREE BBQ and FREE beer tasting, as well as wine tasting and foodie-tailored events. They also offer clinics to help with climbing technique and more.

Check them out Dec. 21st – Be one of the first 100 check-ins for a chance to win a free membership!
