Day camps to keep your kids physically active this summer

Summer in Los Angeles is great. As one of the top summer tourist destinations, there’s rarely a reason to leave. If you’re sticking around this summer (or visiting!) and want your kid to have fun, learn something new, and stay physically active, check out these unique and awesome summer camps!

Any of these activities will make a memorable “What I did this summer” experience. Who knows, your kid may inspire YOU to try something new. P.S. some of these camps have daily rates, so it’s a great opportunity to try it out, especially if you are on vacation in L.A.!

Taekwondo at Tae Ryong Brentwood

Tae Ryong Taekwondo School – Brentwood is one of the largest, family-centered Martial Arts facilities in Southern California. Taekwondo camp at Tae Ryong Brentwood this summer is “Competition Themed”.  Along with self-defense techniques, Taekwondo students have daily training in: Courtesy, Integrity, Self-Control, Perseverance and Indomitable Spirit. Rock Climbing Camp at Sender One

Sender One is a premier rock climbing gym with two locations in California. Their newly-open Los Angeles location, near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), is one of the tallest rock climbing gyms in Northern America.

This adventurous summer camp offers a variety of activities in addition to rock climbing, including:

Trapeze and Aerial Arts Adventure Program at Trapeze School New York (Los Angeles)

Trapeze School New York in Los Angeles is located on the Santa Monica Pier, a popular tourist destination with plenty to do in the vicinity. Children can learn to soar on the trapeze, train in aerial arts, or both! After a week of fun practice, students showcase their skills on the last day.

Circus Arts, Dance, Stunts, and more at Le Studio

Le Studio an amazing school for the performing arts. Their summer camp focuses on circus arts, acrobatics, dance, stunt team, physical comedy, theatre, and humanitarian service. Located in the South Bay in a brand-new 10,000 square foot building, this large training facility has certified rigging to ensure your child’s safety at all times.

Open to children between the ages of 5 – 17, there are four types of camps available:

  1. Artists Camp (ages 5-14), for any child that wants to learn circus world skills
  2. Le PeTiT CiRqUe Camp, available to current members or by audition
  3. Private Sessions, for one-on-one instruction
  4. Pre-Professional Intensive Camp, for gifted youths
