The Museum of Selfies: April 1st – May 31st in Glendale

This week, my daughter and I got our “selfie” on at The Museum of Selfies in Glendale. The name of this museum isn’t sugar-coated with a cute name (no offense, other places), but is instead very literal. The theme of this museum is the history, evolution, and popular trends behind the ever-popular (whether you love it or hate it) “selfie”. Thank you, The Museum of Selfies for having us as your guests.

Before we entered, we were given a quick overview about the museum:

A Visual Tour

With selfie sticks easily located at each station, you’re in good hands if you forgot one. We took pictures at almost every station. Luckily, we were able to do that with ease because you are free to roam the spaces as you wish. P.S. The staff is awesome! They are there to answer your questions and to ask advice for the best shot. Even if you *think* you know what you’re doing, they can probably tell you something you didn’t realize. They are super friendly and helpful. Utilize them! Here are just a few of the photos we took. Special thanks to my photographer, Danielle DeLuca who captured some of these shots!

The Van Gough Room. Everything here is painted in his style and you feel like you’re in one of his paintings!

The Museum of Selfies

This limited engagement runs from April 1st to May 31st.

The Museum of Selfies is an interactive museum that explores the history and cultural phenomenon of the selfie – an image of oneself taken by oneself – with roots dating back 40,000 years.

Visitors can explore the origin of the selfie through the lens of art, history, technology, and culture while taking some cool selfies of their very own with our interactive installations.

The Museum of Selfies promises to share the unseen depths and history of this cultural phenomenon. Whether you love them or hate them, you won’t see selfies the same way again.

The Museum of Selfies is located at: 211 N Brand Boulevard Glendale, CA 91203
Plenty of street and nearby garage parking available.
