Upstage Update: January

I can’t believe the performance date is just a month away! The kids are now off-book and are expected to know the choreography for the numbers they are in. Thankfully, we received tracks to practice along with via e-mail in the shared drive.

There are volunteer opportunities for parents to get involved to help make the show a success. Among them are: costumes, hair and makeup; ticket table; and cast party. As I recall from the summer program, they did a great job with the hair and makeup and the costumes were really great too.

I’m pretty excited to see what the kids have been up to. It will be interesting to see the differences between the school-year program and the summer program. I can’t wait to see my child’s performance on stage! Is it weird that I’m nervous? I guess that’s a “mom” feeling šŸ™‚ I’m hoping my daughter will continue to enjoy theatre, because I think it’s been a really fantastic experience for her. I know she will appreciate it even more later, especially because she’s introduced to it at an early age.

Next post will be about the performance! Stay tuned.
