Visiting Santa at Westside Pavilion
As funny as it is to see photos babies crying during their visit with Santa, I was curious to see what would happen when my baby meets Kris Kringle. Would she fear him the way her cousin did in the photo below?
I decided to go with Westside Pavilion, because it is the closest mall to where I live, and there is free parking. Planning ahead, I made sure to visit the mall website to find out Santa Hours and pricing for photo packages. I also learned from the website that they do not allow any outside photography or recording devices of any kind on the Santa floor, even if you are making a purchase. Kind of sad, because my husband wanted to record some video of our baby meeting Santa.
We arrived a little after 11am today (Tuesday, Dec. 10), and although I was prepared to wait in a long line, we luckily did not have to wait at all! That, combined with my baby’s lack of fear of strangers, made for a smiley Santa photo. I think if we had to wait in line for 15 minutes or longer, it would have resulted in a photo with a very irritated baby. I dressed her in an elf outfit and hat I purchased at Target, because I like to dress her up for holiday photos. Santa told us it was the cutest outfit he had seen on a baby so far!
Because there wasn’t anyone waiting in line after us, we were able to take our time taking photos and choosing which one we liked best for purchasing. Avoiding the crowds was definitely key, so try to visit Santa before school lets out for the day, and before the holiday break. Good luck!
