Since the birth of my second child, I’ve been reading a lot on my Kindle<\/a><\/strong> during breast pumping sessions. Thanks to recommendations from friends, President Obama’s reading list of 2018, and a variety of other resources, I enjoyed and recommend the following books in the memoir, autobiography, and humor categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Becoming – Michele Obama<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BECOMING<\/a><\/strong> by Michelle Obama is a great book, not just because she was the first Lady, but because of how she lives her life. I particularly liked reading about\u00a0how her mom was an advocate for her and her brother’s education, putting it first, eventually leading to both of them attending Stanford. Michelle was a rule-follower and achieved so much. Her confidence is inspirational and her candidness in the book is relatable. Her story is about more than about being Mrs. Obama, it is also about being a mom, woman, and daughter. As a mom of daughters myself, it was helpful to read about her values and how she impressed them on her daughters. I highly recommend this book, especially for middle and high school girls to show them the possibilities in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
