Since becoming a mom, I can barely watch anything on television that is violent. I\u00a0have become\u00a0protective of children and more aware of human rights\u00a0in general. This tragic event has been on my mind and I&#8217;ve wanted to post something about it for the past few days. I originally started doing research on\u00a0how to boost your child&#8217;s self-confidence and how to keep the lines of communication open with your teen. But yesterday, Maya Angelou died. Facebook flooded with images of her famous quotes. She was a talent, a force, and an overall amazing woman. I recognized several quotes and wish I grew up <em>living by them<\/em>. I&#8217;m glad it&#8217;s not too late to share\u00a0them to my daughter. I&#8217;m grateful Maya Angelou\u00a0gave us the gift of her words, her mind, and her heart. I plan on reading the works of this great woman and instilling her powerful words to my daughter.
