We went to Universal Studios<\/a> today after having breakfast at Porto’s<\/a>. I’m not a huge fan of theme parks, mainly because I don’t like standing in line. Today was an exception\u00a0because visiting family wanted to go, and my Aunt took care of my baby so I could go on\u00a0some rides. I wish prepared better because there was a splash zone water area for kids, and I forgot to bring the proper attire for my daughter.<\/p>\n

I rode Transformers: The Ride 3-D with my brother and niece after a 1.5 hour wait in line. It was a really fun ride, and the production value is very good. It isn’t the\u00a0best<\/em> ride I’ve been on (that honor goes to\u00a0Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey\u2122\u00a0<\/em>at Islands of Adventure in Florida), but it is pretty darn good.<\/p>\n

Next, we all checked out\u00a0Universal’s Animal Actors<\/em> Show. My daughter was asleep through the first half, but was awake and enjoyed the part she did see. Afterwards, we met some of the animals – some dogs, a fox, and a chicken.<\/p>\n

Then, we went on the Studio Tour. I hadn’t been on this tour since I was a kid, when\u00a0JAWS<\/em> was the biggest attraction. The famed shark was still there, but what stole the spotlight was King Kong 360 3-D. I closed my daughter’s eyes because I was afraid she would get nightmares because it was loud and the tour bus was shaking. She seemed unfazed by it, but I just wanted to make\u00a0sure. I also enjoyed seeing cars from movies, and filming locations for\u00a0Desperate Housewives,<\/em>\u00a0Back to the Future,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Mindy Project.<\/em><\/p>\n

Finally, there was only enough time for one more ride, so my niece, brother, and I went on The Simpsons Ride. Our wait wasn’t long (30 mins), but because there are a lot of things to look at in line, it’s not so bad. I wish we had time to check out the new\u00a0Despicable Me Minion Mayhem<\/em> ride, but because my daughter didn’t sleep much all day and is on a pretty strict schedule, I had to choose my wait times wisely.\u00a0Despicable Me Minion Mayhem\u00a0<\/em>had the second longest ride wait, so I chose to ride Transformers instead.<\/p>\n

I’m glad I was able to enjoy some attractions at Universal Studios, only because my aunt was there to help. I don’t think I would return if I had to do it on my own. Overall, it was a pretty good day.<\/p>\n
