Last Sunday, my family and I went to Adventure City<\/strong><\/a> amusement park in Anaheim. I found out about it through the blog socalfieldtrips.com.<\/a>\u00a0 I\u2019m so glad I learned about it because it not only caters to 2 – 10 year-olds, but it’s the perfect place to introduce a toddler to amusement park rides.\u00a0 Adventure City<\/strong><\/a> is a short one hour drive from Los Angeles, so it’s the perfect day trip. Here are five reasons why Adventure City is the perfect amusement park for toddlers.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s small in size but big on fun<\/h2>\n

Adventure City packs a lot of fun in a small space. The rides and attractions are in close proximity to one another, which means you can cover more ground in a short amount of time. Also, if you want to go on a ride more than once, you don\u2019t have to trek very far or wait too long. The average wait time for a ride is less than ten minutes.<\/p>\n

It’s priced right<\/h2>\n

General Admission to the park is $16.95 for ages one through 54. Infants 12 months and under are admitted free, and the senior citizen rate is $11.95. The prices are not only reasonable, but a great bang for the buck because the rides are unlimited. This is a great value for toddlers because their attention span is short, and almost the entire park is dedicated to them.<\/p>\n

Seven of the eleven rides are toddler friendly<\/h2>\n

Most of the rides do not have a height or age requirement when riding with an adult. Here\u2019s a brief overview of the toddler-friendly rides we experienced:<\/p>\n

Adventure City Express Train<\/h3>\n

The Adventure City Express Train is a ride-on, mini train for adults and children alike. It tours the perimeter of the park and allows you to see the rest of the rides the park has to offer. It\u2019s a great initial-ride if it\u2019s your first visit to Adventure City.<\/p>\n

Crank \u2018n\u2019 Roll<\/h3>\n

This mini-train runs on \u201ckid-power\u201d – children crank the handles to move. Adults can give their child a \u201cboost\u201d by pushing them along. My two-year old really enjoyed this.<\/p>\n

Carousel<\/h3>\n

The carousel is a classic favorite. This vintage carousel, built in 1946, sits in the center of the park.<\/p>\n

Crazy Bus<\/h3>\n

This was my toddler\u2019s first-ever \u201cthrill ride.\u201d It\u2019s a bus that swoops in a circle. She was a bit terrified, so we only went on this once. Other kids really enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

Brainstormer Planes<\/h3>\n

These are planes that fly in a circle that you can control up or down. This was one of my daughter\u2019s favorite rides. We rode on it twice.<\/p>\n

Rescue 911<\/h3>\n

These self-driving service vehicles are a park favorite. It may be difficult to choose between a fire truck, ambulance, or police car, you may have to ride more than once!\u00a0 Kids can also try on the service uniforms provided.<\/p>\n

Giggle Wheel<\/h3>\n

This is a mini version of a ferris wheel. It\u2019s a fun way to see below and wave \u201chello\u201d to everyone from the top.<\/p>\n

The park is travel themed<\/h2>\n

I really like how Adventure City<\/strong><\/a> is not centered around characters, but rather the actual function of the ride is itself. This allowed my toddler to not be fixated on a ride merely because character representation. In that respect, I feel the activities are educational as well as fun.<\/p>\n

Dance Party<\/h2>\n

After an entertaining comedy show at the Children\u2019s Theater hosted by a person and a puppet, everyone was invited to the front of the stage for a dance party. They played some party dance songs such as The Macarena<\/em>, and The Cha Cha Slide<\/em>. It was the cutest thing to see the kids dance.<\/p>\n
