Recently, I received the book,\u00a0You Made Me A Mother<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, written by\u00a0Laurenne Sala<\/strong><\/a> and illustrated by\u00a0Robin Preiss Glasser<\/a><\/strong>. It’s become a favorite of my daughter’s – so much that she asked me to do story time with her last night instead of her father because she wanted me to read it to her (I previously explained to her that Daddy cannot read it to her because it’s Mommy’s special book for her).<\/p>\n

The targeted age range for the book is 4-8, but kids as young as three (such as my daughter), will enjoy it. My daughter really\u00a0loves the part at the beginning of the book where the mom says baby grew in her\u00a0tummy from the size of a pea to an eggplant!<\/p>\n

About the Book<\/h2>\n

The book,\u00a0You Made Me A Mother<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, is based on this<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0promotional video by Boba baby carriers<\/strong><\/a>. Using\u00a0Laurenne Sala<\/strong><\/a>‘s words from the video, book publisher Harper Collins<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0hired\u00a0Fancy Nancy<\/em><\/strong><\/a> book illustrator\u00a0Robin Preiss Glasser<\/strong><\/a> to create images for the emotional celebration of motherhood for\u00a0You Made Me A Mother<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. This 32-page book explains motherly love to a child, from in-utero to preschool age and beyond.<\/p>\n

It is a sweet, wonderful way to express to your child how special he or she is\u00a0to you.\u00a0I’ve read it almost a dozen times and I tear up every time! I dare you to keep a dry eye.<\/p>\n

About\u00a0Robin Preiss Glasser<\/h2>\n

Robin Preiss Glasser, the Children\u2019s Book Council\u2019s \u201c2013 Illustrator of the Year,\u201d has had two successful careers in the arts, the first as a ballet dancer, and the second as an award-winning children\u2019s book illustrator. After 11 years performing with the Pennsylvania Ballet, Robin returned to school at age 30 and began illustration.<\/p>\n

In 2005, Robin was paired with author Jane O\u2019Connor for the now classic Fancy Nancy series, of which there are more than 60 books, including a chapter book series for older children, the latest entitled Nancy Clancy: Soccer Mania.
