Five-time GRAMMY\u00ae winning and best-selling recording artist Celine Dion<\/b><\/a> will perform an all-new original song, \u201cHow Does A Moment Last Forever,\u201d for Disney\u2019s live-action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST<\/b><\/a>. The song will also be included on the film\u2019s soundtrack, which will be released by Walt Disney Records<\/strong><\/a> on March 10, 2017<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Written by eight-time Oscar\u00ae-winning composer Alan Menken<\/strong><\/a> (\u201cThe Little Mermaid,\u201d \u201cAladdin\u201d) and veteran lyricist and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice<\/strong><\/a> (\u201cThe Lion King,\u201d \u201cEvita\u201d), \u201cHow Does A Moment Last Forever\u201d is an emotional ballad about holding onto life\u2019s precious moments. Portions of the song are performed throughout the film and interpolated into the underscore before Dion\u2019s full-length version debuts in the film\u2019s custom main-on-end title design.<\/p>\n

Says Dion<\/strong><\/a>, \u201cBeing a part of the original \u2018Beauty and the Beast<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this film again.\u201d<\/p>\n

President of Music for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures<\/strong><\/a> Production, Mitchell Leib, approached the artist on behalf of the project with the idea of recording one of the three new songs written for the film. \u201cCeline was the unanimous choice of the filmmakers and studio to perform this song,\u201d says Leib, \u201cAnd everyone involved with the film is thrilled she agreed to be part of this new live-action adaptation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dion originally performed the duet \u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d \u2013 featuring Menken\u2019s haunting melody and two-time Oscar-winner Howard Ashman\u2019s unforgettable lyrics \u2013 with Peabo Bryson for the animated film. The song became an instant classic and went on to receive an Academy Award\u00ae<\/strong>, Golden Globe\u00ae<\/strong> and three GRAMMY Awards.<\/p>\n

Menken also provides the film score along with new recordings of the classic songs from the animated film written by himself and Ashman.<\/p>\n
