My daughter recently turned four. She’s attended part-time school for almost a school year, and is a very talkative, inquisitive child. She will start full-time school in the fall, so I want to make sure she has a wide range of skills (and\u00a0familiarity with certain subjects) before then. Because she loves electronics (which we try to use sparingly and mainly as a treat), I recently used it as an opportunity to see how she would do with\u00a0some learning games on the educational website\u00a0TestingMom.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

We first used\u00a0TestingMom.com<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>on my laptop, so\u00a0she had to learn how to use the touchpad. That’s a lesson in itself, and after we got over that hump, we jumped into one of the age and grade appropriate programs. The program we chose was categorized into different subjects, such as: reading, math, visual, thinking, etc. I noticed (and tried not to influence) her\u00a0preferred subjects and took mental notes of which ones we needed to work on. \u00a0She loved the encouragement and personalization of the program. I liked the “tips for parents” section.<\/p>\n

So much has changed since I was in school!\u00a0The questions\u00a0on\u00a0TestingMom.com<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>are worded and set-up similar to tests your children would take in school. It was interesting to see my child struggle with some of the wording and presentation since it was her first time seeing anything like it. After taking a few of the fun tests exercises online, I have to agree with\u00a0the\u00a0reviews on TestingMom.com<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0– familiarity with the content and presentation makes for better test scores and critical thinking skills. She got better with each module the longer she played.<\/p>\n

I’m hoping by introducing my daughter to relevant\u00a0material such as the lessons on\u00a0TestingMom.com<\/a><\/strong>, my daughter can be a success story<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>make me a more knowledgable parent, and help me save money by tutoring her through this program!<\/p>\n
