On Saturday, my family and I attended a special media event to celebrate the release of The Lego Movie 2 on DVD/Blu-Ray and Digital. We saw a screening of the movie, then enjoyed a fun party afterwards with photo ops with the movie characters, Lego building, cookie decorating, and tacos!

Movie Review: THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART
We hadn’t seen the first LEGO movie before watching this one, but the story was still easy to follow, with lots of humorous moments for children and adults alike. I love the integration with real life, where the Lego “worlds” are driven by the humans that interact with them. This movie has a great lesson in sharing and getting along, and also that things aren’t always what they seem.
My daughter really liked the character Lucy. I liked her too, because she is tough and feminine at the same time. Also, my husband and I thought it was cool how the Lego piece numbers were imposed on the screen while some items were built. Definitely lots of memories from building Lego sets as a child!
The writers did an excellent job in keeping the storyline moving and entertaining at the same time. The songs are “infectious” and will leave you singing them in your head for days. Speaking of singing…
