Collagen Bites are my new favorite snack

I love shopping on the food delivery service website Milk & Eggs because there is always something new and different I wouldn’t otherwise think about or see unless I was at a local farmer’s market. Don’t get me wrong, I love farmer’s markets, but I also don’t like carrying around cash or going through the trouble of driving and parking. So Milk & Eggs is a nice alternative to that! On a recent browse, I discovered twenty-five Eight Collagen Almond Butter Bites.

Why collagen?

Collagen is present in the body – found in skin, bones, cartilage, ligaments, blood, etc. Although the body naturally produces it, production decreases with age. Because we’re not getting any younger, it’s a good idea to supplement it.

Some benefits of collagen include: easing joint pain, increases skin elasticity, improve digestion, helps burn fat and build muscle. (source: healthline.com).

Collagen Almond Butter Bites

While you can get collagen supplements from several sources, such as powder, pill, capsule, or liquid, this format is my favorite. Twenty-five Eight Collagen Almond bites are made from Vital Proteins’ Grass-Fed Collagen. Other ingredients include: organic Almond Butter, organic Vanilla Extract, organic Medjool Dates, and Himalayan Salt.

It’s suggested to reheat before eating. The glass container is microwave safe, but my preferred way of reheating is on low temperature in the toaster oven for about five minutes or less. Another way, which I didn’t try is to on the stovetop in a pan.

I really like the taste of these collagen almond butter bites. They are soft, slightly sweet, and remind me of a mini peanut butter protein ball. I could definitely eat more, but I restrict myself to one per day.

About twenty-five Eight

Erica Mock, founder of twenty-five eight. When pregnant with her son Aydan, she had no idea what was to come when he arrived earth-side, but I soon found that she was strapped for time and constantly hungry. On a trip to a local health food store with her son Aydan clinging to her in his carrier, a young gentleman offered to help Erica & her son out to their car. As they were walking, the gentleman gave them the most heartfelt compliment and thanked Erica for being a mother. She looked at him with an exhausted yet proud smile and thanked him for the acknowledgement. Erica then went on to say that “It’s definitely a 24/7 job!”. At that point the man looked at her, paused and replied, “No, ma’am, it’s more like 25/8.”

It was then that it hit Erica. He was right, nurturing children takes more time than we actually have. She was amazed because all at once Erica felt like he understood, and it felt so good! She believes that’s really what all mothers need. Mothers need to feel supported, loved, appreciated, and understood. That’s why Erica created twenty-five eight. It goes beyond just giving the gift of food. The meals are symbolic for the support, love and understanding we so desperately need while navigating on this incredible journey. Without nourishment, we cannot sustain the long nights and endless days of nurturing our beautiful children.
