Both my daughters (7 & 11) grew-up on Care Bears; books, backpacks, lunch boxes, stuffed/plastic dolls, trinkets and every DVD the company sold! So, it was pretty cool to take them to celebrate 35 years of caring and sharing. The message is clear and a special way for young kidlets to learn those imperative concepts.
Hundreds lined-up for a photo opportunity and hug from the bright carnation pink bear, Cheer Bear. The first 100 kids to arrive received a Care Bears gift. There were plenty of celebrities on hand with their kids/families making sure to publicly enforce the important idea of love, kindness and sharing, which I imagine is the foundation we all want our next generation to spring up from.
My girls had a wonderful time. It is a great reminder to have those little conversations about kindness, love, caring, thoughtfulness, etc. no matter what their age!!

When I was younger I remember watching and playing with Care Bears. My favorite bears were Love a Lot and Cheer – they are so happy and have hearts and rainbows on them. It was really great to see Cheer Bear in person but she was so much bigger than I expected. I loved the bear donuts, they were so cute and yummy. The party was at Giggles N’ Hugs in the Topanga mall and I loved playing in the playground and especially ball pit. At the end, they gave my sister and me a Care Bears cup that I will drink all my favorite drinks in.

I remember watching Care Bears shows and movies all the time when I was younger. My mom says I would watch the same ones over and over. It reminded me to share my toys and care about other peoples’ feelings. I’ve forgotten all about Care Bears and so that’s probably why I have sometimes been acting so bratty now. Care Bears really helped (and helps) me sort out my anger. My mom used to call me ‘Grumpy Bear’ when I was being mean. Thank you Care Bears!
The 35th Anniversary of Care Bears was at my favorite mall, Topanga. They had everything from delicious donuts to healthy salads. It was yummy and a lot of fun!
A lot of celebrities such as Mario Lopez was there. The celebs were all so nice in person! His daughter is in 1st grade and my sister is in 2nd grade, they should have a play date!
